Our customers are priority #1! – Pasture Posts #41

We’re not your typical farm.  So some of the decisions and activities that we have to execute are not like that of the average farm. For example, we operate our own home delivery service so we have to think about a whole host of metrics that a typical farm doesn’t.

Also atypical of an average farm is the fact that customer satisfaction is at the center of all these various decisions.  This is foreign to most farms as they are largely focused on how to produce more with less costs.  And while we also steward our resources meticulously, what drives us at the end of the day is serving our customers with products with which you can feed your family with confidence.

So with much larger-than-predicted growth over the last two years, we have had to do everything from revamping workflows to putting in place new cold storage to adding new people to our team.  And we don’t see any immediate signs of any of this growth stopping!

In fact, we want to take this opportunity to make an exciting announcement that we have added a wonderful person with a warm, helpful personality to our team.  Her name is Sara Hope, and she will be coming onboard to help out with customer support as well as providing improvements to the website.  One example of her efforts can already be seen in the various recipe links that are now available on many of our Bundles and UPS Bundles product pages!

She is still in training, but is catching on fast so when you reach out by phone or email she just might be the one to serve you!

So in the spirit of continuously improving the Watson Farms customer experience, we would like to extend the opportunity for you to give us some feedback.  So if you have some suggestions for us just hit the button below to head over to fill out a quick form.  We look forward to seeing some ideas you have for us!

Scenes from the Farm

We have had to start feeding some hay lately as the rains haven’t quite been enough to keep the grass growing like we hoped. There is good news though: our winter annual grasses are almost ready to graze which will allow us to pull some cattle off of hay.

Here are Abby and Noah throwing off slices of hay as we slowly move the truck forward.  This spreads the hay out so all the cattle can eat at once.
The winter annual grasses (rye and ryegrass) are coming on pretty good despite a dry fall.  Here you can see the carbon captured from the warm season in the form of dead grass layered on top of the ground.  This carbon layer insulates the soil and protects it from erosion.  Photo by Abby Watson.

More Pork Coming Soon

We apologize for the pork items that are out-of-stock right now.  We should be getting some back in stock very soon.  Unfortunately, not just any pork will do when it comes to what we can feel good about putting on our shelves.  It has to be to our standards, and we have a nice group of pigs coming up that have been raised just that way.  Thanks for your patience and for trusting that we are doing everything we can to keep the shelves full.

We have revamped our Referral Program!

It’s now easier than ever to Give $15 and Get $15 through our Referral Program.  We don’t spend a lot of money of advertising, but rather we focus on producing products that people love and are willing to tell others about.  So we depend on word of mouth to find new customers and ultimately to heal more land.

So in an effort to streamline this process we have made it easier to tell others (via email, Facebook, or Twitter) about Watson Farms.  And it’s all automated on the backend, so you don’t have to rely on us to issue the store credits manually.  Just head over to our Referrals Page and start sharing!

We’ve got some exciting things available in our beef category right now!  For starters, we have plenty of ground beef in stock and the best part is you can bundle and save! Check it out below!

Another exciting offering is our brand new Build a Bundle – Roasts and Burger.  We’ve had a Build a Bundle available for UPS customers for a while but now our Home Delivery and Farm Pickup customers can take advantage of this unique product type that offers the ability to customize your own bundle and save money!

Lastly, we just got back some beautiful Rib Roasts just in time for the holidays.  Check them out as well!

We re-use packaging!

We’ve seen a good response to our efforts in re-using packaging! Thanks and keep it up.

You can help us reduce our carbon footprint by returning your CLEAN egg cartons and meat boxes.

The main reason that we switched to plastic egg cartons a while back was because they are so much more durable than paper which could only be used once.  They also protect the eggs much better!

So if you have some egg cartons or boxes to return, you can just place them on your porch on your home delivery day.  Farm pickup customers can, of course, drop them off when you come to pick up your new order.

Thanks for helping us re-use our packaging!

Check it out!

Check out this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review:

If I could give them 6 stars, I would. They are absolutely sincere and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. They keep you updated on what’s coming available and how their livestock is raised. The beef, chicken, pork and eggs are above and beyond comparison. We believe in supporting our local farmers, you can see and taste the difference. Thank you Watson Farms!

We would greatly appreciate it if you would be kind enough to leave us a review.  It helps first-time customers purchase with confidence.

Thanks again for being partners in this endeavor of local, pasture-raised proteins that has truly transformed our farm.  We look forward to continuing this transition while serving you long into the future.

Sincerely,

The Watsons
